Your Starter Kit is on its way!

Keep the adventure going for $20.

As a little thank-you for joining my Insider List, you can add Everyday Explorations: Downtown Edition for $20 instead of $27 right here on this page.

Your Starter Kit gets the creative process started. Downtown Edition takes it further with more projects, more layering and experimenting, and finished mixed-media pieces built from what you gathered. Add Downtown Edition for only $20!

What if the adventure didn’t have to end when you got home?

Maybe your camera roll is already full of interesting signs, colors, textures, buildings, little details, and places you loved.

This course is an invitation to bring some of that inspiration into the studio—and explore what happens when those pieces become part of your art.

GATHER

Go looking—or start with photos you already have—and collect the colors, textures, words, shapes, and details that feel interesting to you.

REMIX

Bring those discoveries into the studio, print, crop, layer, alter, and experiment with them until they begin to feel like art-making ingredients.

CREATE

Use those ingredients in small studies and finished mixed-media pieces rooted in an experience that was actually yours.

“My favorite part of your course was looking at places with fresh eyes - taking in not just the destination, but all the things along the way.

—Vicky M.

Why I Made This Course

I’m Beth, a mixed-media artist just outside Chicago, and I’ve always been drawn to the raw edges of a city—peeled posters, graffiti, worn surfaces, bold type, unexpected color, and all the little details that make a place feel alive.

Those are the kinds of things I photograph, collect, bring home, and eventually work into my paintings.

Everyday Explorations: Downtown Edition grew out of that process. I wanted to share the way I gather inspiration out in the world, bring it back to the studio, and begin experimenting with it—without expecting your work to look anything like mine.

I’ll show you what I do, why I make certain choices, and how I move from inspiration into art. Then you get to take it in your own direction.
